Hello there,
My name is Tara. I'm a snow leopard living on the ferocious mountain tops of the Himalayas in Tibet with my two newborns Kitsi and Jigme. This is the first time we have crossed paths; it is only courteous that I tell you more about myself.
I love my name, Tara. It's a Tibetan name. I was named after the Mother Goddess. She is very powerful, being the Mother Goddess and all. I try to live up to my name. I've vowed many times over to raise my cubs properly, teaching them about elegance and courage. I also have to protect them from wandering scavengers, but that is rare. It is only a tall animal, I believe he is called 'man' who I am afraid of. As a child I always thought we were safe in the rocky mountains as not many animals are blessed with the skill to survive here. However, these 'men' come prepared. I have not met one face to face, but recently, us snow leopards seem to find our territory size shrinking and shrinking. We can see these 'men' more often, in their odd shaped shelters.
Maybe I have gone too far with my introduction, sorry, but 'man' has become a bigger part of our daily lives ever since they came to the mountains. I have to be wary.
Oh, what was that? Oh, its just my cubs, they are awake now. It's getting dark. I had better keep watch. Until next time then.
Farewell, Tara
